The Master Gardener program in Saline County is a VOLUNTEER program that includes anyone who is interested in gardening, helping people solve their gardening problems or that may want to learn about gardening.

They complete a training program titled Arkansas Master Gardener Training Program and agree to work a minimum of 40 hours the first year and 20 hours for subsequent years. They work with the local county extension agent on garden-related community service projects. The beautification that they bring to our county is incredible.

Master Gardeners meet the 3rd Saturday of each month at 9:00 am. The meeting takes place at Bishop Park and is open to the public. Training courses to be a Master Gardener are held in January and February.

If you would like to have a personal garden but have no space for one, you can use a Community Garden Spot in Avilla.
Call Bruce Schrader at 501-317-1064 for more information.

The Annual Plant Sale will be held at the Saline County Fairgrounds on April 20th from 8:00 am until noon. This year it will be in the Rodeo Arena.
